Remembrance Day, November 11th

We will remember them.

Having been to Belgium and France specifically on a War Memorial history trip, I've had first hand experience of the places where several battles were fought during WW1 & 2 and where so much blood was shed, and so many lives lost. Ian, Kovo and I laid a wreath at the meningate during one of their Saturday memorial services (that they have had for every Saturday since WW1, except for when the Germans took over the town during WW2). It was a touching moment and whilst my heart was filled with sorrow and grief for those who had been lost, I also felt a sense of pride for what they did and for the sacrifices they made to save our countries. That is something that will never leave me. There are so many stories that I learnt from that trip but I'm in no mood to repeat most of them right now, I just wanted to write a short entry to acknowledge Remembrance Day - November 11th. We will remember them.
